Prospect Position Ranks: Offense

QUARTERBACKS

  1. DESHAUN WATSON clem
  2. MITCHELL TRUBISKY unc
  3. PATRICK MAHOMES ttu
  4. DESHONE KIZER nd

It is not a particularly deep QB class this year nor does it feature any true top-level prospects. However, I'm more optimistic than many on all four here, especially Watson. I do believe Watson and Trubisky are worthy of first round selections, just not in the top ten. Mahomes and Kizer make for very solid second round choices provided they fall that far. I am particularly intrigued by Patrick Mahomes' formidable but raw talent.

RUNNING BACKS

  1. LEONARD FOURNETTE lsu
  2. CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY stan
  3. DALVIN COOK fsu
  4. D'ONTA FOREMAN tex

Quite an intriguing group. The top three backs are very even in my estimation. I think Christian McCaffrey has tremendous multi-purpose upside and could easily prove to be the best weapon of the three. But every time I roll tape on Leonard Fournette and Dalvin Cook I am very impressed. Both are natural playmakers with the obvious ability to demonstrate both physicality and burst in their running. Fournette is superior on both fronts, although durability concerns are certainly relevant for both he and McCaffrey. D'Onta Foreman is an under-hyped second or third round prospect who will likely make a team very happy.
